It does not produce toxic fumes, and it works on many surfaces, including kitchen and bathroom fixtures, floors, and clothing. Hydrogen peroxide is widely available, so you should not have any trouble finding it. You can apply it to the affected area and allow it to sit for an hour or so before laundering. It will kill all traces of the mold and mildew and will remove any stains and residual mold.
